Haiti - Culture : 3rd edition of the Festival «Rencontres des Musiques du monde» 09/06/2017 10:10:27
Workshops, meetings, screenings and concerts take place during 10 days in the different partner locations: FOKAL and Institut Français in Haiti. This edition will also be the occasion to celebrate the 20 years of the cooperation agreement between the Governments of Wallonia Brussels and the Republic of Haiti. Each year, the "Encounters of world music" follow each year a double concern: the promotion of current music related to traditional music and the reflection on the market of world music, especially Caribbean music. Thus, Tamise is committed to maintaining the Haitian culture by allowing them to interact with artists from elsewhere, sharing their history with respect for cultural diversity. Festival concerts are given to FOKAL and the French Institute of Haiti. All concerts are free. For concerts of the FOKAL, the entry is by invitation to be withdrawn prior to the reception The Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the International Organization of La Francophonie, the Embassy of Switzerland in Haiti, Wallonia-Brussels International, the French Embassy in Haiti, the Institut Français à Paris, the General Delegation of the Alliances Françaises in Haiti, the European Union through the PEC and Air Caraïbes.
