44 deaths in the National Penitentiary
According to the information revealed in the report of the Presidential Commission on the Situation of Prisons, presented this week, from September 2016 to February 2017, 44 deaths were recorded in the National Penitentiary.

Parliamentary recess
In accordance with articles 98, 98.1, 98.3 and 10 of the current Constitution, the opening session of the second session of the legislative year will be held next Monday at 1:00 pm. However, deputies and senators are already at work, they are currently in extraordinary session on the amending budget 2016/2017 tabled this week in both Houses by Patrick Salomon, the Minister of the Economy and Finance.

Amending budget, a breakdown budget
Friday in press conference, Jude Alix Patrick Salomon, Minister of Economy assisted by the Director General of the Budget Jean Michel Sillin and members of his cabinet, took stock of the content of the amending budget for the current financial year, 2016-2017. He stressed that this "breakdown budgetor transition budget will have the virtue of enabling officials to boost the State : y reducing operating expenses and allowing it to regularize its obligations". He also reported on the progress of the 2017-2018 budget, which will have to be tabled in parliament by 30 June in accordance with the law.

Meeting with Universities in Regions
Friday, Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education, held a working session for the first time with the Rectors of Public Universities in Regions (UPR). The functioning of the Regional University, the problems encountered and the solutions envisaged were at the center of exchanges between the Minister and the Rectors. At the initiative of the UPR, an international symposium will be organized in Port-de-Paix. It will be a time to evaluate the progress made and to define new perspectives, inspired by the reality and the best pratices in the world.

Towards a priority cooperation with Andalusia
This week, Ms. Olga Médor Ducasse, Chargé d'Affaires ai at the Embassy of Haiti to the Kingdom of Spain, accompanied by Minister Counselor Louis Marie Montfort Saintil, Head of Cooperation had a working session with Nestor Fernandez Rodriguez, Director of the Andalusian Agency for International Development Cooperation (AACID), assisted by Olga Pozo, in charge of Latin America and the Caribbean, around the possibility of incorporating Haiti into the list of priority countries of Andalusian cooperation, like the case of the other countries of the Iberoamerican region within the framework of the Decentralized Cooperation.

Management of the Historic National Park
Limond Toussaint, Minister of Culture in the presence of Neat Achille, Regional Director of the Institute for the Safeguarding of National Heritage (ISPAN), Roddy Attilus Departmental Director of the Ministry and Eddy Lubin, Regional Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Haiti, traveled to the north of the country, specifically in Cap-Haïtien, for discussions on the various management problems of the Historical National Park, a complex regrouping : Sans-souci Palace, Henry Citadel and Ramiers.

Inauguration of the Carnival Interpretation Center of Jacmel
Friday, the inauguration ceremony of the Jacmel Carnival Interpretation Center (CICAJ) was held at the Tourist Port of Jacmel.
