The Directorate of Civil Protection informs us that a serious road accident occurred yesterday Saturday in Cavaillon (department of the South) which caused at least 11 dead and 15 wounded. The wounded are being treated at the hospital in Les Cayes.

On Saturday, until 9.30 pm, the rescue staff made maneuvers to try to clear the crashed truck, stuck against a wall.

Operations were conducted by the Haitian National Police (PNH), the National Ambulance Center (CAN), the Civil Protection (DPC) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

The exact circumstances of the accident are unknown until now...

Also that same Saturday early evening to Saut d'Eau, lightning made 3 dead and 4 wounded, all boys aged between 12 and 14, who were playing football. The injured were taken care by the health center nearby and one of them had to be transferred to the University Hospital of Mirebalais.
