Dr Seymour Coffy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Baseball Academy of Haiti, in a meeting with Dominican Olympic Committee President Luisin Mejía, President of the Dominican Baseball Federation and the main Major League Baseball (MLB) executives in the Dominican Republic announced that a group of businessmen from Haiti and the Dominican Republic, in collaboration with organizations from both countries, have launched a Joint Border Program, to develop baseball.

The start of the Program is scheduled to take place at the border of Dajabón and Ouanaminthe in July where the senior sports authorities of the two countries were invited.

The delegation that visited the Dominican sports officials was composed of Seymour Coffy, Fernando González, Carlos Hernández, Claude Barrosi, Joseph Edgard Dume, Wesly Pierre, Lemeck Charles, Ronal Beldor, Claude Joazard, Jean Daniel Dacier, Lesly Michel and Dominique Telemaque.

The Haitian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic Idalbert Pierre Jean, has promised to fully support this initiative, so that the discipline of baseball develops in Haiti.

"We are very satisfied with the support given to us by the sports authorities of the Dominican Republic, especially those of baseball, in seeking to promote this discipline in Haiti," said Dr. Coffy indicating that in the next days more details will be communicated about this Program.
