The spokespersons of the residency Tamara Orion and Lucien Jura announced this week at a press conference at the National Palace that on 1 July the Caravan of Change will launch its work in the Great South, specifically in the departments of the South, of Nippes and Grand Anse.

According to Tamara Orion, the work will take place in two stages. A first phase called "Operation Punch" from July to September and a second phase of infrastructure that will last until the end of the mandate of the Head of State.

In Phase I, Housing Construction and of Public Buildings Unit (UCLBP) and the Public Company for Social Housing Promotion (EPPLS) will proceed to the construction of 125 houses (50 in the South, 50 in the Grand Anse and Nippes in 25) and to the rehabilitation of 1,250 other houses (400 in the South, 650 in Grand'Anse and 200 in the Nippes).

In Phase II, the Government will undertake, among other things, the rehabilitation of 1,360 km of road (400 km in the south, 637 km in Grand'Anse and 323 km in the Nippes).

According to Lucien Jura, the estimated costs for the work of the Caravan of Change in the Great South amount to nearly 3.5 billion Gourdes.
