Haiti - Mexico : First meeting between the two Chancellors
On the sidelines of the 47th Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), which ended in Cancun a few days ago, Haitian Chancellor Antonio Rodrigue and his Mexican counterpart Luis Videgaray Caso met for the first time. This meeting, coordinated by the Embassy of Haiti in Mexico and the Mexican Chancery, was attended by Mrs. Soccoro Flores Liera Under Secretary of State in charge of the Caribbean and Latin America and member of her cabin, Haiti Ambassador to Mexico Guy Lamothe, Haitian Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS) Harvel Jean Baptiste and Ronald Placius of the Haitian Chancellery.

The two men reviewed Mexican-Haitian cooperation and made commitments, among others, on investment research, illegal migration, education, agriculture and the search for financing for development projects, notably within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Committee.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Mexico to Port-au-Prince, Jose Luis Alvarado announced that the program of 300 scholarships should be renewed http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21357-haiti-news-zapping.html

Meanwhile, Haitian Ambassador to Mexico Guy Lamothe has just inaugurated the Haiti-Mexico friendship group in the Chamber of Deputies and has been working diligently to document our compatriots with passports and identity documents in order that they regularize in Mexico and to enter the labor market of the border towns Tijuana and Mexicali http://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20748-haiti-mexico-more-than-1-000-haitians-already-regularized.html
