Haiti - Diplomacy : Wishes of happiness to Donald Trump by PM

Monday night at the residence of Brian Shukan the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Haiti, President Jovenel Moïse accompanied by his wife Martine, Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant and Foreign Minister Antonio Rodrigue took part in the celebration of the 241st anniversary of the independence of the United States (4 July).
In his remarks, Prime Minister Lafontant declared, "I wish happiness and peace to the President Trump place and the American people at this moment of great solemnity. May the values of freedom, solidarity and equity continue to serve as models for future generations. These values characterized the dream of Toussaint Louverture, Dessalines, Petion, Washington, Jefferson. I reiterate the Haitian Government's clear desire to work with the United States to ensure the rule of law in the country," adding in conclusion" The Government welcomes the commitment of the United States to continue to accompany the Haitian people in its progress towards development."
