Evans Paul and Wilson Laleau in the Senate
Former Prime Minister Evans Paul and former Finance Minister Wilson Laleau were heard on Tuesday by the Special Senate Committee charged to deepening the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission's investigation into the use of funds of the Petro Caribe program.

Meeting with a SouthCom delegation
A meeting was held at the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) between a delegation of the South Command of the Armed Forces of the United States (SOUTHCOM) and Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police (PNH), to launch a new initiative called the Human Rights Initiative (HRI). The aim of the initiative was to strengthen the partnership between representatives of the security forces, members of the Government and members of the Civil Society.

Towards Social Security for PIC Workers
On Tuesday, a working meeting was held in Caracol between the Labor and Sickness Insurance Office (OFATMA) and the company S & H Global, SA around a social security for the staff of the Industrial Park of Caracole (PIC ). Participants included Dr. Agabus Joseph and Israel Petit-Frère, General Director and Head of the Contractual Unit of OFATMA and Ms. Bora Lee, Assistant Director of S & H Global, S.A.

Draft Headquarters Agreement for the CRI
Tuesday, Prime Minister Lafontant met with Elhadj As Sy, Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in the presence of Guiteau Jean-Pierre, President of the Haitian Red Cross. Discussions included a lasting partnership between Haiti and the International Federation and the proposed signing of a headquarters agreement which would allow the Federation, in the framework of its operation in Haiti, to enjoy privileges and immunities, legal status and official recognition.

Mission to Improve the Living Environment in the North
Monday started the mission of contributing to the improvement of the living environment of the inhabitants of the North by the appropriation of the cultural industries in Haiti. This project, funded by the Spanish Cooperation, is co-executed by UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the National Bureau of Ethnology (BNE), the Ministry of Tourism, ISPAN. The Director General of the BNE, Erol Josué and his Technical team are working so that in this project the Intangible Cultural Heritage is safeguarded and enhanced in the implementation of heritage management projects, human capital formation and of Development of the cultural and tourism entrepreneurship sector.

Artists for Equality
At the beginning of the week an activity called "Artists for Equality" was held at the initiative of the US Embassy in Haiti. Emerging artists from diverse disciplines followed the audience on the theme of diversity.
