Haiti - Social : Visit of the First Lady to the Summer Camp of Soleil 19

On Thursday, the First Lady of Haiti, Martine Moïse, went to Cité Soleil, in particular at Summer Camp of Father Arthur Volel at Soleil 19, where she visited workshops of music, painting, drawing, living languages, boxing and dance, organized by the town hall of the commune.

Held under the "Kraze grangou" program, these workshops are carried out for the benefit of the children of the city, with a view to making them aware of the dangers of drugs and alcohol among others. Jean Hislain Frederix, the Mayor of the commune, stressed that these workshops were part of a City Hall initiative to counter hunger and violence among the younger ones. He also pointed out that other programs have been created, such as the Excellence Académie scholarship, to provide support to young people from Cité Soleil who wish to enter university.

Martine Moïse has promised her support for projects of this kind organized by the City Council of Cité Soleil and encouraged parents to accompany their children and young people not to waste their time in unhealthy activities but rather to learn trades to become professionals .
