Haiti - Social : «I have a job, I earn a living in dignity»

The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA), in partnership with the Lycée Alexandre Pétion, launched the first edition of its Summer Camp on the theme "I have a job, I earn a living with dignity", to the intention of 60 children from destitute families from several neighborhoods in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.

This summer camp, which will continue until August 18, 2017, has as main objective to introduce the children to a formation in plastic art and drawing; Macramé and crochet; Leadership; Editing and business management and basic skills.

For Jacquelin Lirisemond, project manager of the Lorquet Foundation, this summer camp is "a resounding message to allow these children to give free rein to their creativity, to strengthen their self-confidence and develop their professional skills, to train and diverting well away from all deviant activities and encouraging them to open their minds."

Amos Cincir, President of the Foundation, is proud that the institution he runs supports the aspirations of young people, especially at a time when Haitian youth is looking for models and benchmarks and many qualified and competent young people flee the country to travel to Brazil, Chile, Canada, Mexico and more recently to the Republic of China (Taiwan)...

For Jeeph Sergilles Vice President of FOLONHA, this activity is carried out to promote positive engagement with young Haitians in key areas with a social dimension, such as education, employment, citizen participation, which is an important aspect of the Foundation's mission.
