157th of the ANH Foundation

Sunday brought back the 157th anniversary of the founding of the National Archives of Haiti (ANH). On this occasion, Jean Wilfrid Bertrand, the Director General of the ANH welcomed his 34 years of service as head of the institution. Founded on 20 August 1860 under the government of President Fabre Nicolas Geffrard, the National Archives is one of the oldest institutions in Haiti. The National Archives, an autonomous agency of the Haitian State, now operate under the Ministry of Culture.
