Haiti - Economy : Slight slowdown in inflation in July

In July 2017, the General Consumer Price Index (base 100 in August 2004) down to 312.4 in July compared with 309.3 the previous month, reflecting a very slight slowdown in inflation that shows in July a monthly growth of 1% (+ 1.1% in June) for an annualized inflation rate of 15.6% (15.8% in June).

The monthly increase in inflation is mainly the result of the behavior of consumption functions: "Food, Beverages and Tobacco" (+ 1%), "Clothing, fabrics, shoes" (+ 1.9%), And Water "(+ 1.2%) and" Accommodation Equipment and Maintenance "(+ 0.8%).

The positive change in the index "Food, Beverages and Tobacco", which represents over 50% of the household budget is the rersult among other of the increase of : millet (+ 2.1%), cornflakes (+ 1.4%), beef (+ 2.4%), pork (+ 2.3%), (+2.4%), chicken (+ 1.2%), fresh fish (+ 2.1%), herring (+ 1.5%), salt herring (+ 1.3% ), Cod (+ 1.5%), coconut (+ 2%), avocado (+ 1.2%), bananas (+ 1.5%), giraumon + 1.5%), mirliton, pumpkin (+ 1.8%), eggplant (+ 1.6%), tomato (+ 1.6%), yam 6%), malanga (+ 1.6%), potato (+ 1.6%), potato (+ 2.2%), orange (+ 1.5%), Of the chadque (+ 1.5%) and lemon (+ 1.7%).

The rise in the index "Clothing, Textiles and Shoes" is related particularly to prices of tissues (+ 2.2%), the costume, universal jacket (+ 1.2%), shirts (+ 3.1%) , the man t-shirt (+ 1.6%), the shirt (+ 2.4%), the dress (+ 1.9%) and shoes (+ 2.4%).
