Haiti - USA : Terrier Rouge has a new Police Station
13 years after being torched by demonstrators, the US government rebuilt the Red Terrier Police Station (Northeast) and handed over the keys this week to the Haitian National Police (PNH).

For her first public appearance, Ms. Robin Diallo, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United States newly arrived in Haiti, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21928-haiti-diplomacy-the-american-charge-d-affaires-leaves-haiti.html , highlighted the important role of the PNH and reiterated the commitment of the United States to support the growth and development of this institution.

Ms. Diallo, in the presence of local authorities and representatives of the international community, accompanied by Michel-Ange Gédéon, Director General of the PNH, the Mayor of Terrier Rouge, Marie Evena Daniel Pompilus, n the presence of local authorities and representatives of the international community, commended the leadership and efforts of the Haitian police to ensure the security of the population declaring "The Haitian National Police have the confidence of their national leaders, their commanders, the international community, and most importantly, the citizens that they serve and protect. The United States remains steadfast in support of the women and men of the PNH as they build a stable platform for a more prosperous Haiti."

The construction of the Commissariat, launched in September 2016, was financed by the U.S. Government, through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).

Lets' recall that the United States has supported Haiti’s security efforts for twenty years and has completed other infrastructure projects to build police stations and prisons throughout the country, including in Port-de-Paix, Cabaret, Les Cayes and Petit-Goâve.
