Haiti - IRMA : Government assesses damage in Northeast

On Saturday, a government delegation led by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant arrived early in the Northeast Department to assess the damage caused by the passage of IRMA.

This delegation, which included ministers: Stéphanie Auguste (MHAVE), Hervé Denis (Defense) Carmel André Béliard (Agriculture) visited families whose homes were flooded, people evacuated and installed in temporary shelters and of agricultural and other infrastructure damaged by the effects of the hurricane.

Joined by parliamentarians of the department, the members of the government took the opportunity to congratulate the local elected officials and their collaborators which from the phase of the alert until the relief, through the evacuation step, did a remarkable work.

It should be noted that no loss of life so far has been reported in this region.
