Haiti - Humanitarian : A dental mission canceled for security reasons
A dental mission composed of 26 volunteers (Canadian and American), who had to bring with it, medical and dental supplies in Haiti, has canceled its mission, for security reasons.

Dr. Bruce McFarlane and his team planned to visit Haiti in March, the mission was canceled following the recommendations and warnings from U.S. and Canadian governments, concerning the civil unrest in Haiti, a country that is undergoing a serious political crisis following the preliminary results of the disputed first round election.

The volunteer team has decided, instead, to move their mission in bateys, Dominican Republic, where lives a large Haitian community. McFarlane's team had visited this region last year and intended to return after their mission in Haiti.

Currently collecting supplies and donations continue despite the situation in Haiti, some supplies will reach this country, thanks to the generosity of a Winnipeg company. Bruce McFarlane and his team hopes to return in Haiti next year.
