This week, Régine Lamur, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) chaired a preparatory meeting for the project on the teaching and practice of physical education and sport in schools.

During the meeting, discussions were held, inter alia around : strategies for the physical education and sports project in schools; the identification of sports facilities throughout the country; the participation of the technical directorates in the implementation of socio-educational, sports and civic activities and the supervision of youth activities by MJSAC.

Minister Lamur intends to solicit of the Minister of National Education Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the participation of senior officials of his ministry in a short time for a broader meeting with a view to drawing up a Memorandum of Understanding defining the broad lines of cooperation between the two Ministries on school sport and preparing a timetable for implementation the project of teaching physical education and sports in schools and the organization of school championships from October 2017.

Mario Florvil, Director General of the MJSAC, Max Buteau, Director of the Cabinet of Minister Lamur, Olivier Pierre Sterne, Jude Désir and Rousseau Otarice and Patrick Lazarre, responsible for the school sports service of the Ministry of Education.
