As part of the preparation of the agreement countries Haiti and Chile, during his recent meeting with Manuel A. Valderrama Rebolledo, Minister of the Supreme Court of Chile visiting Haiti, Jacques Thimoléon Stevenson, the Director General of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, said that he was aware of the common interest in promoting and encouraging technical and scientific progress as well as the mutual benefits that would result from cooperation in areas of interest emphasizing "It will be necessary to activate the mechanisms of the triangular cooperation in order to make more efficient the resources to allow the development and the realization of the programs of the country agreement as well as the activities identified during the exploratory missions."

At the end of the meeting, the two men agreed to accelerate the work on the one hand, with the technical secretariat of the External Development Co-ordination Framework (CAED) for the Haitian side, and for the Chilean side, with the Ambassador of Chile accredited to Haiti, so that in mid-October the country agreement is ready to be validated.
