Towards new Fuel Price increases

Justice: Memorandum of Understanding

Red mangrove nursery

With the support of the UN Environment / Haiti, the Ministry of Environment has set up a nursery of red mangroves in St Jean du Sud. With a capacity of more than 100,000 seedlings, this nursery is intended to replant the bare areas of the mangrove ecosystem of St Jean du Sud whose black mangroves are attacked by high humidity and salinity. These red mangroves will play the role of first barrier in the eco-systemic service. This initiative is technically supported by UN environment-Haiti and financially from a bottom of the Government of Norway.

Budget: National Council of Churches concerned

In a note, the National Spiritual Council of the Churches of Haiti (Conaspeh) expresses its concern at the crisis Haiti is experiencing after the publication of the new budget. The Conaspeh said it regretted that Jovenel Moïse did not understand the dimension of the crisis that threatens the country, where the vast majority of the population lives in poverty. The Council urges the Moïse-Lafontant Administration to submit to the Parliament as soon as possible an amending budget with a view to ending the crisis.
