Haiti - Football : Training session for Football educators

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) announced the opening of a training session for educators of basic football, also called "grassroots", which will last 5 days. This training will begin Monday, January 31, at the Centre Goal-FIFA Joseph Blatter at 8.30 am under the patronage of the Ministries of Sports and Education to finish Friday, February 3, 2011 by a grassroots festival, involving some 300 children (from 8:00 to 11:00 to SUN AUTO on the road of Tabarre).

35 technicians from all regions, will participate to this training, which is the first step to the launch of a National grassroots football program. The training will be given jointly by the French expert Yvon Avry, FIFA Consultant, currently residing in Haiti to help the FHF to implement its development programs, and Mr. Carlo Marcelin, National Technical Director, who recently received a training on "grassroots" in Tunisia.

More and more countries are implementing training programs involving children (boy and girl) always younger. Besides the recreational aspect, this initiative is very important for talent identification and a management of increasingly early future footballers. In addition, it is the entire National Football who will win with players better trained for Clubs and certainly a substantial improvement in the level of national selection.

This seminar will be followed by the implantation of a pilot project for 6 weeks in the area of Carrefour. The ultimate goal is to expand, if the necessary funds are found, the program across the country and allow tens of thousands of young people to learn the "Sport-King" under the direction of competent and qualified educators.
