Haiti - FLASH : More than 40 Haitians missing in a shipwreck

Sunday, the Marine Rescue Unit of the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) rescued 7 survivors of a shipwreck off the Turtle Island. Three of the survivors were taken to the hospital of Haut-Palmiste to receive care. According to the survivors, the boat from Turtle Island, which had about fifty Haitian migrants on board, was trying to illegally reach the Providenciales islands located in the Turks and Caicos archipelago, 200 km to the north. On Sunday evening, the DPC was still carrying out research at sea of survivors. HL/ S/ HaitiLibre
