Haiti - Reconstruction : International Conference on the issue of the habitat in Haiti

This program will include two activities:
A series of conferences and debates from January 31 to February 3, will be held at the Karibe Convention Center in Petion ville. Several sectors involved in reconstruction will take part in this conference. The guest star will be the Prince's Foundation for the Built Environment who will present the development plan of Port-au-Prince. The Minister of Social Affairs will discuss of the government's housing policy and the "Caisse Nationale de Dépôts de France" will present a proposal of structuration of the reconstruction program. Other urban professionals, as Paul Emile Simon and Leslie Voltaire, presidential candidate, will speak on the habitat and urban planning, the case of Port-au-Prince and the development of the territory.
Presentations of housing Prototypes :
Prototype of houses will be built on a site called "les Orangers" to be exposed to visitors "We have received 360 requests of international companies offering solutions of reconstruction [...] we selected about 140 that will present prototypes" said Patrick Delatour.
Priscilla Phelps, Representative of the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) said that "IHRC fully supports this activity, because the issue of the habitat, of the housing and the neighborhood development is the priority number one [...] This activity will allow the introduction of the housing construction industry in Haiti and will be affordable for small budgets"
