Haiti - Politic : PM met a delegation of the IDB

The Prime Minister, Jack Guy Lafontant, accompanied by Max Rudolph Saint-Albin, the Minister of the Interior, Josué Pierre Louis, General Coordinator of the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH), senior officials of the Primature and of the Ministry of Finance, attended this week the presentation of the report of Mission of preparation of the Support Program for the Modernization of the State (HA-L1131) by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

While thanking the IDB for its support, the Head of Government explained the measures already taken by his administration through the OMRH and made the commitment to carry out the reform of the State with legal tools including the two texts of laws which will be submitted to Parliament very soon.

Led by Gilles Damais, the IDB's Chief of Operations, one of the objectives of the delegation was to gather additional information on the challenges of institutional capacity in the public sector. It was also a first assessment of the institutions that will be in charge of managing the buildings and other physical assets of the Government in the Administrative and Socio Cultural Centers (CASC), inaugurated by the Prime Minister in the South on October 10th.

With regard to CCACs, Prime Minister Lafontant confirmed that he had decided that their management would be handled by the State through committees set up specifically for this purpose.
