Haiti - Music : France honors the famous Haitian pianist Micheline Laudun Denis

During a ceremony at the Residence of France, the Ambassador of France Elisabeth Beton Delègue, presented this week, the Medal of Chevalier in the Order of Arts and Letters to pianist Micheline Laudun Denis, in the presence of the family of the interested, her family and personalities of the world of arts.

Former student of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris, Ms. Laudun Denis is one of the most talented pianists of Haiti. Her career has taken her from the main Haitian scenes and of National Palace to concert halls in Europe, the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa, where she has given numerous recitals.

An outstanding classical performer, Ms. Laudun Denis has also distinguished herself throughout her brilliant career with her teaching and pedagogical talents as well as her action in favor of the classical Haitian repertoire, to the valuation of which she has largely contributed.

In distinguishing Ms. Laudun Denis, France wished to pay tribute to the remarkable talent and superb career of this illustrious musician, but also to reward her unwavering commitment to the learning of classical music in Haiti and the transmission of Haitian musical heritage.

Designed to reward people who have distinguished themselves by their creations in the artistic or literary field or by the contribution they have made to the influence of Arts and Letters in France and around the world, the Order of Arts and Letters is one of the four ministerial orders of the French Republic.
