Haiti - FLASH : Haitian citizens must now pay a tax to get out of Haiti
Max Rudolph Saint-Albin Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), in a circular note bearing the signature of Fednel Monchery the Director General of MICT and Joseph Cianciulli Director of Immigration, Joseph Cianciulli, Director of the Directorate Immigration and Emigration, announced the new boarding pass tariff, effective November 2017, at all border crossings across the country.

Since the beginning of November 2017, all Haitians, whether they are from the diaspora or living in Haiti, have to pay a tax of 200 gourdes each time they leave the country. For foreigners the landing card amounts to seven US dollars.
