Following to its technical sessions that made it possible to set the priority actions for the 2017-2018 fiscal year on the basis of performance indicators that will be the subject of a follow-up mission in April 2018, the Ministry of Planning and of External Cooperation (MCPE) received the Strategic Steering Committee of the Public Finance Reform in Plenary Assembly of Validation of the aide-mémoire of the political dialogue.

This joint multilateral meeting is part of the partnership signed in June 2017 between Haiti and its technical and financial partners on budget support and technical assistance to support public finance and economic governance reforms.

In his intervention, Jean Mercier Prophète, as Director-General ai of the Ministry, said that this meeting will make an initial evaluation of the aide-memoire prepared in collaboration with international donors and took the opportunity to announce the recruitment of experts to the MPCE, to review the national planning system.

For his part, Maarten Vergaween, the Representative of the European Union clarified the objectives of this meeting which are among others: the intensification of the discussions between Haiti and the donors, as well as a better harmonization of the international aid with the government priorities. He also drew the attention of the participants to the historic nature of this meeting.
