Wednesday, Colombe Emilie Jessy Menos, the Minister of Tourism, took part in the launch of the new daily flight of Jet Blue Airways Orlando (MCO Airport) to the Toussaint Louverture International Airport pf Port-au-Prince.

In front of guests and members of the local press in Orlando, the Minister said that this new flight for the diaspora is undoubtedly "a booster" for the development of the Haitian tourism sector "We reiterate to the compatriots of the diaspora of Orlando and the neighboring areas, the call to come back visit the country full of important tourist attractions such as our gastronomy, our sites and historical monuments." The inauguration of the flight at Orlando Airport was preceded by a cocktail in honor of the first passengers.

The Consul General of Haiti in Orlando, Pierre Max Charles welcomed this initiative of the airline "This approach is as much to strengthen and develop our ties with the United States in general and the city of Orlando in particular.

"Jetblue is inaugurating this Orlando-Port-au-Prince daily flight after 9 years of cherishing this project," said Franky Elias, General Manager of JetBlue Airways in Orlando.

"Haiti is a dynamic destination and we are very excited to connect the Haitian community from Orlando to Port-au-Prince," said JetBlue Airport Manager Joshua Goldwitz.

The arrival of the inaugural flight at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince was greeted by representatives of the National Airports Authority (NAA), the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others from the private tourism sector such as the Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH) and the American diplomatic mission in Haiti.

Note that JetBlue Airways carries more than 38 million customers a year in 101 cities in the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America, with an average of 1,000 daily flights. Orlando is the fourth largest city in JetBlue with direct flights to Port-au-Prince and this service will be available throughout the year.
