Haiti - Security : Graduation of the 10th promotion of CIMO agents
Friday, at the National Police School on the road of Frères Michel-Ange Gédéon, the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) participated in the graduation ceremony of the 10th Promotion of agents of the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO).

Excerpt from the speech of Michel-Ange Gédéon :

"[...] I would like to put in context this training in a global logic of reinforcement of the respect of the rights of the human person and an awareness of the respect of the democratic values which must cross the national police of Haiti as an institution assuming heavy responsibilities in the sovereign functions of the State.

[...] As Commander-in-Chief of the National Police of Haiti, I have always dreamed that we have a professional police. It is true that the first tool of the professional is the knowledge, but what is the use of the aptitude if the attitude will ruin everything ? It is precisely to control behaviors that this training took place. In the field of instruction and education, repetition is even desirable sometimes to ensure that everything is understood. In this sense, we want the duplication of these types of training.

Our specialized units are at the forefront of the management of street demonstrations, so it makes sense to give them professional skills as well as a reminder of the most useful notions of law and respect for human rights in order to reduce the risks of burrs and their unfortunate consequences."
