10% of teenager have already had procreation activities
The Mortality, Morbidity and Utilization Survey (EMMUS VI) report for this year revealed that 10% of teenager ave had previous reproductive activities. At the level of the central department and Grand'Anse, 14% of teenagers have already started their fertile life, for the South 13%, 12% for the Northwest and Artibonite. In addition to these departments, the others are below average. While in the metropolitan area, there are 5%. However, this is a considerable decrease compared to previous years, in 2000, the rate was 18% and 14% for 2005-2006 and 2012, against only 10% for 2017.

Caricom meeting in Haiti
In February 2018, Haiti will host the 22nd Intersessional Meeting of Heads of Government of CARICOM. Representatives of the Government and the CARICOM Secretariat have begun preparations for this important meeting.

3,408 counterfeit cards
In 2017, the Directorate General of Migrations of the Dominican Republic seized 3,408 counterfeit cards and copies of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), as well as foreign passports and Dominican Cedulas modified or in possession of other persons during operations carried out throughout the national territory.

2 days of mourning at Carrefour
The commune of Carrefour has decreed the 20 and 21 December days of mourning on the occasion of the death of the singer Manno Charlemagne.

Citizen Mobilization
Civil society organizations such as SOFA, EC-JILAP, RNDDH, POHDH, CARDH and CRESFED call for citizen mobilization in order to prevent any attempt to drown the two reports concerning the squandering of PetroCaribe fund. These human rights organizations are very critical vis-a-vis the president Jovenel Moïse trying to bury these reports stressing that these documents constitute an important and historic step in the institutional fight against corruption.
