Haiti - Taiwan : End of mission of the Minister of Environment
During his stay in Taiwan (Republic of China) which ends this Thursday, December 21, Pierre Simon Georges the Minister of the Environment at the head of a Haitian delegation signed Tuesday in Taipei a letter of intent with his Taiwanese counterpart Ying Yuan Lee, Minister of the Environmental Protection Agency of Taiwan https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-23041-icihaiti-taiwan-environmental-diplomacy.html

With this signing, both countries pledge to work to strengthen bilateral cooperation in environmental protection. In addition, both Ministers reaffirm their willingness to cooperate in the establishment of Plant Propagation Centers, Taiwan has already committed to fund the South Germplasm Center https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-22875-icihaiti-environment-inauguration-of-the-plant-propagation-center-south.html

In addition, Haiti will benefit from the Taiwanese technical expertise in sanitation and governance in the field of solid waste management as well as in the design and establishment of Haitian municipal system of integrated waste management, in order to reduce the negative environmental impact.

During their stay, Minister Georges and members of the delegation also visited the Futian Water Resources Recycling Center, the Recycling and Sorting Center of the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation in Taipei, the garbage incineration plant in Bali, in New Taipei among others.

This mission also aimed to draw on Taiwan's experience in the energy transition field.
