Haiti - Football : 20 years later, AS Capoise sacred again !
Sunday, December 24, the Association Sportive Capoise (ASC) won the closing tournament of the National Championship of Professional Football (D1) by winning at Parc Miguel Saint-Jean of Morne Blanc the victory against Racing FC Gonaives [2-3].

In first period Frantz Moïse of the CSA opens the score at 20 [1-0] quickly followed by a second goal of Peterson Junior Joseph [0-2] in favor of the ASC, score unchanged at half time.

Returning from locker room Racing FC returns to the more aggressive charge and Jamesley Daniel, the best scorer of the competition, gets a penalty converted by Steevenson Guillaume to the 54' [1-2]. The fans of Racing began to believe in a possible recovery of their team although difficult...

But that was without counting with a Peterson of the great days, who scored a third goal, allowing the CSA to lead [1-3] to the disappointment of the fans of Racing FC, a gap that Steeveson managed to reduce in scoring a goal (doubled) at 89' of the match [2-3]. The score will remain unchanged at the final whistle, in favor of the old Capois cockerel who won its second title in the national championship, 20 years after the first coronation of the ASC in 1997.

For AS Capoise, who had pitifully finished the opening series (16th and last place in the standings) this victory is a feat, which crowns a race against the clock that it has brilliantly won, allowing it to stay in the running among the elite of Haitian football.

With the 6th place in the closing tournament, the CSA qualified for the playoffs and eliminated in turn its counterpart of Cap Haitien Real Hope Academy, champion of the opening tournament and Don Bosco FC in the semifinals before to win Sunday the trophy against the Racing of Gonaïves.

In a week it will be the Champions of Champions Match between Real and AS Capoise, a new duel of the Christophian City.
