The ECHO Haiti Group (GECH), a Youth Association created in 2010 whose mission is to strengthen the capacity of Haitian youth, has decided to carry out through its Directorate of Youth Operations (DOJ), the 3rd Edition of International Symposium of the Youth, called ELAN Haiti 2018, to be held in Jacmel in Haiti from May 18 to 21, 2018.

This symposium, which aims to be an event for young people in Haiti and around the world, who have a strong and committed vision for the future of Haiti, will make young people aware of the problems of Haiti while giving them the opportunity to formulate and carry out joint action projects for the development of the country.

ELAN Haiti 2018 will give rise to a series of exchanges, conferences, visits, workshops and round tables devoted to a deep reflection focused on Haiti, between young students and active leaders or Haitian and international entrepreneurs. Discussions will focus on the themes of Land Use Planning, Citizenship, Local Governance and Health and will be guided by experts and influential figures from Haiti and elsewhere to lead to the formulation of four concrete projects aimed at: to solve the main problems identified by these young people.

CONDITIONS :

• We will accept 100 qualified candidates (boys and girls) ;

• Deadline for submission of applications: February 15, 2018 ;

• Selected candidates will be notified of the selection committee's decision by email in March 2018.

Selection criteria :

• Be between 18 to 30 years old ;

• Be a professional entry-level student, entrepreneur and / or social leader ;

• Ability to demonstrate interest in helping Haiti's development ;

• Demonstrate leadership abilities ;

• Be willing to work and collaborate with diverse groups ;

• Be available to attend the conference from 18 to 21 May 2018 if selected ;

• Be willing, if selected to follow up as a team the execution of one of the action projects that will arise from the event during a period of 1 year ;

• Candidates must be able to communicate fluently in at least one of the three working languages of the event: French, Creole and English ;

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and be able to project a credible image of a young ambassador.
