Haiti - Politic : Intervention of Jovenel Moise at the Youth Forum
At the Forum of Local Youth Committees of the National Commission for Innovation and Socioprofessional Integration of Young People held at the Croix-des-Bouquets ranch from 4 to Saturday, January 6, 2018 https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-23187-icihaiti-social-forum-for-innovation-and-socio-professional-integration-of-young-people.html President Jovenel Moïse spoke to some 700 young participants from 146 communes.

Intervention of President Moïse :

"[...] Oui fok nou angaje n. Sak vle fè espo, fè espò. Sak vle monte biznis, monte biznis. Sak vle etidye plis, etidye plis. Sak vle fè mizik. Men sèl kondisyon siksè a , se fè sa n chwazi, fè sa seriezman. Se aksepte sakrifis kel enplike.

Yes, there are so many inequalities between us, between the city and the countryside, between the departments, that it is difficult to believe that we can still be brothers, that we all come from the same matrix. Yet it is the challenge of politics: to unite despite our differences to improve the conditions of collective life, to enchant the future for everyone, regardless of age, sex, skin color, social background. It is to meet these challenges, it is to make that the values retained in our national currency become reality in our lived of people that I engaged in politics. It is to remind everyone here, as much as you are, that you have a vital role to play in this adventure. It is to invite everyone as far as it is concerned, regardless of the corner of the territory from which you come, whatever the activity you undertake today, to transform yourself into the best version of yourselves, to commit to continuous improvement to contribute to the exciting work of national recovery.

Premye janvye 1804, pèp la te leve kanpe pou l te di : 'tout moun se moun'.

Today, it's not just about talking to the world and telling them what we are. It's all about talking to ourselves and convincing ourselves that our mission is possible. Our inheritance is not preceded by any will. It was necessary to create a new country, to forge a nation with only luggage our will to remain free and independent. We have yet to complete this gesture. For this, to change the country for the long term for the greatest number, we must first believe that this is possible. his requires a strong commitment to helping young people to face the challenges they face every day; the challenges of vocational training, the challenges of unemployment, in short, the challenges of their true integration into society. And, to take responsibility for their future and their ability to properly manage the heritage left by the ancestors and to transmit it, improved and in good conditions to future generations."

Saturday, January 6 at the closing of the Forum, the Head of State intervened again told young people "[...] What will make the difference in your everyday life is your ability to endow yourself with a dream and accept the sacrifices that will allow you to reach it without being discouraged by the opinions adverse from other [...]" concluding "With the hope that the youth will know as much as it can already and that old age will be able as much as it already knows, my ambition is to reconnect with our roots and to revivify this glorious gesture which made possible our independence, but which was not enough to keep us free and prosperous. The challenge of our generation is to fulfill this double promise."
