The Technical Unit of Seismology (UTS) of the Bureau of Mines and Energy (BME) is associated with the Ministry of the Environment and the Permanent Secretariat for Risk and Disaster Management (SPGRD) to inform that a light earthquake of magnitude 3.19 on the Richter scale was recorded this Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:46 p.m. and 49 seconds (local time).
The epicenter was located about 15km south of Carrefour, 16km south-west of Fermathe and 18km south-west of Port-au-Prince, at a depth of 17 km.
