Manif anti-Trump, the US Embassy closed

Monday, the United States Embassy in Haiti, was forced to close as protesters gathered in front to protest against President Donald Trump. More than a thousand people demonstrated in front of the embassy, but security barriers installed by the police prevented them from accessing the facilities. Special unit agents equipped with helmets and shields were targeted with stone throwing and responded with tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters.

At the Senate, the opposition muzzled

The minority opposition in the Senate, Senators Nenel Cassy, Evalière Beauplan, Ricard Pierre and Antonio Cheramy, denounce the control of Parliament by the power in place. They deplore the 6 positions of the bureau controlled by the PHTK and allies as well as the chairmanship of all the Standing Commissions, which according to them, puts an end to the adversarial debate in the Senate. They announce that they will henceforth lead the battle on the streets alongside the population.

White Paper of the Defense of Haiti

Hervé Denis, the Minister of Defense of Haiti, will be received Wednesday, January 24 by the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) to present the White Paper of the Defense of Haiti.

Launch of the process of preparing the budget 2018-2019

Monday Jude Alix Patrick Salomon the Minister of Economy and Finance launched the process of preparing the 2018-2019 budget in the presence of Aviol Fleurant the Minister of Planning, the Secretary of State for Finance, Ronald Décembre , the General Directors of the Ministry and those of the Directorate General of Budget Erold Etienne and Jean Michel Silin, as well as executives from different directorates.

Jude Edouard Pierre re-elected President FENAMH

The Mayor of the commune of Carrefour Jude Édouard Pierre was re-elected by acclamation President of the Executive Committee of the National Federation of Haitian Mayors (FENAMH). Jude Edouard Pierre "invited all the mayors of the country to combine their efforts in accordance with the Constitution and laws to defend the interests of municipalities."

Training of executives

In order to provide the population with quality services and proximity, the Office of Management and Human Resources (OMRH) organizes since January 15 a 10-day training in the city of Port-de-Paix for the benefit of executives of deconcentrated public services in the North West. Results-based management, public finance, project development and management are the thematic principles that will be addressed by stakeholders. With regard to the finances and rules of public accounting, they were presented by Wisner Thomas the Director of the deconcentration promotion unit at OMRH.
