Haiti - NOTICE : Extension of the deadline for final declaration of income tax

Wednesday, January 31 at a press conference, Miradin Morlan Director General of Taxes DGI officially announced an extension granted to taxpayers until February 28, 2018, to make their final income tax return "This decision is part of a logic of easing the situation for taxpayers," said Director Morlan who wants taxpayers to act so as to make their declarations within the deadlines, to avoid interest for late payment.

"The Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) is resolutely committed to modernity by giving citizens the opportunity, as of February 2018 to complete their final declaration of income tax," added the Director of the DGI , who took the opportunity to remind that in case of non-final declaration of tax within the time limit, the tax administration will apply late interest of 3% per month or fraction of a month of delay on the principal amount.

While promoting fiscal citizenship, the General Tax Directorate, in accordance with the instructions of President Moïse, recalls that it intends to fight against corruption in order to increase the revenues of the State for more services to citizens.
