Haiti - Social : Passing of meteorologist Ronald Semelfort

Max Rudolph Saint-Albin, the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, has learned with great sadness the passing away of meteorologist Ronald Semelfort in the afternoon of Friday, February 2, 2018.

"Minister Saint-Albin joins forces with the entire Ministry, in particular the Directorate of Civil Protection and the members of the National Risk Management System to salute the memory of this great, conscientious, insightful and exemplary professional that was the Physicist Engineer and Meteorological Analyst Ronald Semelfort.

We will remember of Mr. Semelfort, a model of dedication that has given body and soul to the practice of his profession. Accessible, humble and practical, this human relations champion was no less a man of scientific rigor, to whom we owe the anticipation and the good management of many difficult passages related in particular to hydro-meteorological threats. His departure represents a great loss for the National Risk Management System and for the country.

In the circumstances, the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities, the Directorate of Civil Protection and the entire National Risk Management System, express their deep sympathies to the family, the close collaborators of the Hydro Weather Unit, friends, and the many admirers of our beloved servant and guide Ronald Semelfort."
