Haiti - Quebec : $80,000 for a distance education pilot project
Professor Mario Richard, Technical Director and Principal researcher of Télé-Université-Québec's Department of Education (TELUQ University), received funding of nearly $80,000 ($77,150) from the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) to fund an effective teaching pilot project and deploy a national model of distance training in Haiti.

This project will consist in testing the model of distance education with a group of trainers in two Haitian universities : Quisqueya University and the Public University of South in Les Cayes (UPSAC). The trainers will experience an education support process with a sample of teachers of secondary schools.

Mario Richard explains that "the overall objective of this project is to evaluate the relevance of the hybrid model of effective teaching training developed by TÉLUQ University in a Haitian context, and then extend the experience throughout the country in the next few years."

This project will be carried out in partnership with Quisqueya University, UPSAC, the École Supérieure d'Infotronique of Haiti, Paris-Est Créteil University (Paris XII, France) and the Ministry of National Education of Haiti, which will be the first beneficiary while being a stakeholder in its realization.

Learn more about TÉLUQ University :
