Haiti - Education : Minister Cadet calls for an expansion of Cuban cooperation 14/02/2018 08:35:22
At the center of the exchanges, the monitoring of cooperation projects in the field of literacy and other actions in perspective on adult education. The Minister Cadet expressed the wish to see cooperation with Cuba extend to other technical and professional fields, early childhood as well as in the teaching of the Spanish language as part of the implementation of the renovated secondary. Minister Velazquez welcomed favorably the new requests of his Haitian counterpart notably for the establishment of an entity which will have to take care of the adult education. Teams will be involved in the preparation of files for the new cooperation components and the two ministers have promised to continue exchanges in this perspective in the coming months. In addition, Minister Cadet took part in a session on adult education, led by Minister Velazquez and other university officials. Earlier in the morning "university and inclusive sustainable development" was the focus of discussions among representatives of various universities from the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Africa and America North. At the same time, the two other members of the Haitian delegation present, Paul Yves Fausner, the Director of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the Ministry, and Narcisse Fièvre, Head of the Public Universities in the Regions in the Minister's Office, took part in other sessions on higher education and the 2030 education agenda.
