Saturday, February 17, 2018, the opening match of the season of the Haitian Professional Football Championship (CHFP) will take place in Cap-Haitien at Parc Félix St Victor between the champion of the opening series of the season 2017, Real Hope FA and FC Petit-Goâve (FCPG).

The FCPG will be deprived of several players including Chadley Germain who would have reached an agreement with the leaders of the OFC. For his part the local team Real will be deprived of his coach Sonche Pierre, dismissed for lack of discipline.

7 more matches will be held on Sunday 18 February with the three promoted: Valencia, Cosmopolites and Arcahaie FC: against respectively Tempête FC, RFC and OFC at Antoine Levelt Parks, Miguel St Jean and Notre-Dame, while last national champion the ASC will put his title in play by receiving AS Mirebalais.

In other games on Sunday, Arcahaie FC will take its baptism of fire at Parc Notre-Dame where it will be expected by the Ouanaminthe FC who made a very good pre-season. On their side, the "Cosmopolites" will visit the Artibonite to challenge Racing of Gonaïves abandoned by David Telemaque who joined the Tempête FC.

For its part, the national champion of Ascension Valencia of Léogâne will try to sign his return to D1 by a victory that looks very difficult against Tempête FC.

Should be noted that several classic matches at this season opener such as ASSE vs Baltimore, still in the afternoon of Sunday: the ASC vs ASM which should attract the large crowd at Parc Félix St Victor, the star match between the Don Bosco and FCIA which will take place at the Parc Ste Thérèse in Pétion-Ville and finally the Cavaly who will face the RCH on the lawn of Gérard Christophe Park in Léogâne.

Note that all these matches will be led by female referees.
