Wednesday, as part of the "Assistance in the form of Donations to Local Micro-Projects Contributing to Human Security (APL)" Yoshiaki Hatta, Ambassador of Japan to Haiti, has signed four grant contracts totaling more than 400,000 dollars (USD 416,821.00), with Representatives of four local organizations in the fields of Agriculture and Education, at the level of the Center (Mirebalais, Thomonde and Hinche) and North (Pignon) departments. It is a project to build / install sugar cane processing center equipment and three projects to build basic community schools.

"Development Project for the Sugarcane Transformation Center in Grand Boucan"

Mirebalais ($105,063.00)

The project submitted by the Youth Organization in Action for the Socio-Economic Development of Border Zones envisages the strengthening of the sugarcane sector by increasing the performance of the production chain through the construction of a sugarcane processing center equipped with a motorized mill, boilers and vats.

"Development project of Laodice de Campêche Mixed Community School"

Aguahédionde Left Bank, Hinche ($103,546.00)

This project will be implemented by the Social Organization for the Development of Central Plateau in order to facilitate access to basic education and create better learning conditions for children. For the benefit of the current 149 students of the school and other children waiting for schooling in this area, the construction of 6 classrooms equipped with adequate school furniture, a toilet block and a water tank will be carried out as part of this project.

"Development Project of the Bon Berger Community Mixed School"

Pignon ($100,633.00)

This project will allow the Association of Planters Labelle Mère de Pignon, to improve the access and learning conditions of the 235 current students and to receive 35 new students waiting for schooling in the area, through the construction of 6 classrooms equipped with adequate school furniture, an administrative room and a toilet block with a handwashing area.

"Development Project of the Mixed Institution Aimé Césaire"

Thomonde ($107,579.00)

Through this project, the Solidarity of Non State Actors of the Center, will realize the construction of 6 classrooms equipped with adequate school furniture, an administrative room, a toilet block and a water tank in order to improve the educational conditions of the current 155 students as well as 80 additional students who will have now have access to the Institution.
