Haiti - Climate : At least 3 IDP camps flooded in Leogane
The River Rouyonne in Leogane [south of Port-au-Prince], is in flood after the first heavy rains of the year. The rain fell on Sunday and intensely on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, causing widespread flooding. The Civil Protection reports major damage but no casualties. National Road # 2 was interrupted, several areas of the city are under water and at least three IDP camps have been flooded.

Wednesday morning, several hundreds of refugees whose the camps are under water, in downtown, have requested the assistance to the authorities. The Civil Protection reported that it lacked the means necessary to help these people. The local residents claim once again that the work of dredging of the rivers be done, deploring a situation, which recurs each time that heavy rains hits the region.
