Haiti - Exhibition : The European Union honors Haitian women

This Thursday, March 8, as part of International Women's Day, the European Union (EU) presents "Fanm Vanyan" a photographic exhibition that presents a series of 12 portraits of women representative of Haitian society today, photographed by the American photographer Nadia Todres, in their professional environment or their living environment, highlighted in their diversity. "The pictures were taken at the women's workplace. The first series between November and December 2017, the second series between January and February 2018," stated Nadia Todres.

This exhibition is hosted for the first time March 8 to 29 at the French Institute of Haiti located 99 avenue Lamartiniere, Bois Verna, Port-au-Prince before being presented in the province so traveling during the year.

For the EU Ambassador in Haiti, Vincent Degert "Women see their social role too often devalued around the world. But they are central actresses of society. Through this exhibition, the European Union wishes to pay tribute to them here in Haiti and to salute their commitment as much citizen as within the economic fabric."

Note that the Women in Democracy Foundation has accepted to be godmother of the exhibition "Fanm Vanyan" "Its financial autonomy, the Haitian woman owes to her years of hard work. His only compass is education, the path to success. This exhibition pays tribute to her efforts," declared Sandra Beauvil, President of the Foundation.
