Friday at Anse-à-Galets, one of the two communes of the island of Gonâve (West Department), during a football match a police intervention turned to drama.

An individual who caused disturbance to public order near the field, required the intervention of the police. Seeing the agents, the individual took the flight triggering a chase with the agents.

Failing to catch him, the police officers ook out their weapons and fired at the fugitive who managed to escape them, unfortunately during this shooting a child was killed and another seriously injured accidentally by stray bullets...

The injured child was rushed to a hospital in Anse-à-Galets to stabilize his condition for transfer to a hospital in the capital.

The police officers involved in this dramatic event were led in the evening to Port-au-Prince where they will report and answer for their actions.
