Haiti - Education : Inauguration of the 175th School of the Digicel Foundation
This week the Digicel Foundation in the presence of its Founder Denis O'Brien and many local authorities, was inaugurated the National Congregational School of Our Lady of Perpetual Help located at Bel Air (Dept. West), which had been completely destroyed during the earthquake of 2010.

This school, which had been operating since then in hangars, was relocated 8 years later, in a modern establishment, which will house more than 600 pupils from the 1st to the 9th fundamental year, comprising 12 fully furnished classrooms, an administration, a sanitary block and a refectory built at a cost of nearly US $ 450,000.

"11 years already since we bring our support to the improvement of the living conditions of the country. We are pleased to have chosen education as a priority sector and are confident that the students and teachers we have supported through our various programs will make a great contribution to the country's development," declared Mrs. Josefa Gauthier, President-Executive of the Digicel Foundation.

This 175th school, inaugurated as part of the Foundation's 11th anniversary celebration, completes the construction program that includes 25 additional schools, a commitment made by Denis O'Brien in November 2014 during the inauguration of the 150th school of the Foundation to Saut d'Eau.

Thanks to the schools built by the Foundation Digiciel through its programs and its various partnerships, more than 60,000 students attend daily a school meeting the international standards of construction seismic and para-cyclonic.
