Haiti - Politic : The number of civil servants insufficient 22/03/2018 11:09:41
Josué Pierre-Louis believes that the State is under-administered, the public service does not have a sufficient number of civil servants, with 8 per 1,000 inhabitants, citing the neighboring Republic which has 400,000 civil servants (34 per 1,000 inhabitants) of which more than 60% are women. Moreover, regarding the representation of women, he emphasizes that in Haiti we do not respect the quota of 30% minimum required in the Constitution. In addition, it states that of the 28.6% of women in the public service, only 13% occupy a management position. He recalled that the new Government on his arrival in power had laid off many employees and contractuals in several public institutions, but on the other hand, the Directorate of the Budget complains about the weight of the wage bill on the domestic revenues of the State.
