Haiti - Case Legagneur : A gang leader involved in the disappearance of the journalist ?
Esaü César, a police officer and former journalist, who was speaking on a radio station of the capital, said hold reliable information that "Bourgogne" one of the alleged Grand Ravine gang leaders reportedly ordered the shooting of journalist Vladjimir Legagneur on March 14th.

This public statement raises questions, while an investigation is ongoing and in the absence of the body of the journalist so far, nothing says that the latter is dead, even if the police authorities do not hide a certain pessimism. In addition, this police officer seems to ignore the ban on police officers to give interviews to the media without the authorization of the Director General https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23788-haiti-news-zapping.html

For his part "Bourgogne" intervening on the airwaves of the same radio station, has swept aside the allegations that suggests that he would be responsible for the death of Vladimir Legagneur. He says he was unaware of the journalist's presence in Grand Ravine on March 14 and described the accusations against him as a montage and a pure invention.

However, the Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ) reported that according to the local organization "Kolektif 2 Dimansyon" (K2D), Legagneur was working on an independent project exploring the consequences of clashes between police and gangs in the neighborhood of Grand Ravine. Is his disappearance linked to this project ? Nothing allows us to say so far, without being able to reject this hypothesis.
