FLASH Chile : Extraordinary regularization program

The Consulate of Chile informs that "In order to promote integration and to recognize the rights of migrants, who have arrived in the country before April 8, 2018 and who are in Chile in an irregular situation, will be opened a gradual process of extraordinary regularization that will allow them to stay in the country."

Gangs have weapons of war

On Tuesday, Ronsard St-Cyr, the Secretary of State for Public Security, confirmed that members of the Slum Gangs of Village de Dieu, Cité Plus and Grand Ravine, among others, had good weapons of war. These weapons are smuggled into Haiti from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and the United States.

Interpellation of the Minister of Justice

Following the resurgence of acts of banditry in the metropolitan area, the Chamber of Deputies decided to interpellate the Minister of Justice, Me Heidi Fortune, 26 April in the lower house informs Gary Bodeau, the President of the Lower House. The Deputy Franck Lauture, one of the deputies interpellators hoped hoping that the Minister will be censored at this meeting.

Assessment of IGPNH

This week in a press conference the General Inspectorate of the National Police of Haiti (IGPNH), whose mission is to control and regulate the National Police, took stock of the month of March: 119 convocations, 67 complaints received, 458 investigations and 102 hearings conducted, 58 reports and 2 recommendations were sent to Michel-Ange Gédéon the Director General of the PNH. Following various investigations, the IGPNH recommended the dismissal of two police officers, a layoff, the suspension of 14 others and 3 agents blamed.

Reshuffle : The Senate will not participate in consultations

Joseph Lambert, President of the Senate Office, informs that the Senate does not intend to participate in consultations with the executive in its attempt to reshuffle the Government, justifying this decision through the exercise of control that the Senate exercises over government actions.
