Haiti - Security : Graduation of the 11th promotion of CIMO

Yesterday Wednesday at the National Police School on the Road of Frères, Michel-Ange Gédéon the Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) participated in the graduation ceremony of the 11th Promotion of the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of the Order [CIMO] composed of 106 recipients (99 men and 7 women).

In his speech, Michel-Ange Gédéon reminded the recipients that the protection of lives and property is the essence of their constitutional mission before sending them a message :

"[...] Whatever your degree of professionalism in the interventions, if you violate human rights, you miss the genius of real professionals. In the professionalism of law enforcement, respect for human rights is a constant. You must always have it in mind, regardless of the type of situation you face.

Both will exert pressure on you according to their agenda and interests, but you, as professionals, always act according to the law, regulations and other normative acts that govern the police institution.

[...] Respect the tradition of the Corps to which you will belong. Our statistics show that CIMO is one of the most disciplined units. You must be careful to respect this custom. Do not increase the small core of black sheep. Aim for the beautiful, the good, the true [...]

Dear Recipients,

There are 106 of you, 99 men and 7 women, so you can contribute a lot to cultivating or changing the discipline and the professionalism that prevails within this unit.

I count on you,

Count on me to help make CIMO this elite unit that works for the respect of democracy and the rule of law.

Welcome to the Corps!

Good work !"
