Haiti - DR : Vast operation of migratory control, 700 Haitians arrested in one day 20/04/2018 08:58:07
The DGM teams used biometric readers to consult the institution's database and thwart the false cards of the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-24051-icihaiti-rd-seizure-of-nearly-6-000-fake-documents-in-the-hands-of-illegal-migrants.html . 1,500 foreigners were screened and 685 people in irregular migration situations, including more than 600 Haitians as well as some Colombians and Venezuelans were taken to the Haina detention center for the process of identification, registration and deportation. In recent weeks, the DGM has continued to intensify and multiply migration control operations in various provinces of the country, including in remote areas, to locate illegal aliens who violate the provisions of the Migration Law 285-04 and deport them to their country of origin.
