Haiti - Economy : Inauguration of a dock on Turtle Island
Saturday in Cayonne a locality on the Turtle Island, Colombe Émilie Jessy Menos, Minister of Tourism accompanied by Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant, in the presence of Ing. Hervé Eveillard, the Director General of the National Port Authority (APN), the Deputy Asthène Jeune, Senators Onondieu Louis and Kedlaire Augustin, local elected representatives, mayors, boards of directors of the Communal Sections (CASEC) and Administration of Communal Sections (ASEC), proceeded to the inauguration of the dock at Port Vincent.

Built by the APN at the request of elected representatives of the North West communities and parliamentarians, this 150-foot-wide, 31-foot-wide dock will facilitate the docking of small boats, trade exchange in the area and improve the living conditions of the population. Fishermen and small boat owners are the first beneficiaries of this dock.

Minister Menos took advantage of her trip to announce "The Turtle Island will soon benefit from a mega tourism development project" without further details... In addition, she announced that the Ministry of Tourism will increase the training of lifeguards, traders and tour guides of the island, concluding "Turtle Island has a rich tourism potential and it will be highlighted."
